The Century Club

The Century Club honors homes and buildings in the Tampa Bay region that have stood for 100 years or more. By recognizing these places and the people who care for them, TCDC celebrates preservation, architectural heritage, and the stories that connect our communities across generations.

Event

We’re throwing a birthday party for Tampa Bay’s oldest residents - the houses and buildings that were here before most of us and are still standing strong!

Our purpose is to joyfully recognize the structures that have survived countless adversity—from hurricanes and termites to zoning changes and decades of changing tastes—and to honor the beauty, longevity, and unique identity these places bring to our community.

Why It Matters

Every 100+ year old structure exists because of a generous steward or caretaker who has invested time, patience, and care into maintaining a special place.

The Century Club honors both:

  • The buildings that have endured

  • The people who keep them standing

Together, they preserve Tampa Bay’s historic character and sense of place.

Member Recognition

Approved houses and buildings will receive an official award suitable for framing. Coming Summer 2026, caretakers may choose to purchase:

  • A Century Club banner

  • A commemorative plaque

  • Or both

Each member of The Century Club represents a story in the history of our built environment.

Lifetime Membership

You must age in—it takes time and patience. Once you’re in, you’re in. (No renewals!)

The Century Club is an ongoing project, with new buildings becoming eligible each year.

The first 50 nominations will be awarded a complimentary ticket to a joyful birthday celebration honoring Tampa Bay’s oldest and most resilient buildings—and the stewards who care for them.

Anyone Can Nominate

At The Century Club, the home or building itself is the nominee and becomes the member.

Nominations may be made by:

  • The home or property owner

  • A family member/A friend

  • Anyone wishing to honor a historic home or building

Nominations also make great gifts!

Nomination Process (opening in mid-April)

The nomination process takes about 10 mins. Please be ready with the following:

  • Documentation: You will be asked to provide proof that the property was built 1926 or earlier. A pdf from the Property Appraiser record is fine!

  • Photo: A clear, brightly lit image of an exterior facade of the structure.

  • Form & Fee: Complete form here ($25 per nomination)
